The small 4 inch bananas have quite a few seeds but the pulp is very sweet. Growing to 8 feet this variety is hardy in zones 8B and above. The seeds need to be soaked for 24 hrs and then sown 1 deep and kept at 68 - 77 degrees with light. These can take anywhere from 8 weeks to 4 months to germinate. Ensete ventricosum

Not producing edible fruit but shows off their beautiful unfurling leaves with both red and sometimes white edges. The dark maroon midrib very attractive.
