In late winter on through summer appear the 1 and a half inch wide outwardly facing orange red flowers with a golden center of bundled stamens. Hardy to around 25 degrees, may survive weather in the teens for a short period of time. Full sun to light shade. Any garden soil. Very easy to grow and is very heat tolerant but does not like its roots to dry out completely.
