very unusual southern shrub Hibiscus Mutabilis or Cotton rose single variety. The blossom opens pure white, turns pink the next day and the following day is dark red. This plant is a very fast grower will get 10 to 12 feet high and 8 to 10 feet across. Hardy in zones 8-10, this plant does overwinter outside in my zone 8B area but does usually lose all its leaves if we have a killing frost, but comes back to blossom again in the fall. Seeds Coral Ardisia - Hilo Holly or Ardisia crenata. This shrub grows 2-6 feet with glossy scalloped leaves that are evergreen in zones 9-11. These bright red berries are a real attraction for birds in my yard. Quite drought tolerant in full or part shade.

The small 1 inch white fragrant flowers appear from September to November. This small tree 10-15 feet that blooms in spring with highly fragrant, small, white, flowers which resemble those of Gardenias.  The trunk is covered by smooth grey bark.  It produces large, edible, yellow fruits hence its other common name Yellow Mangosteen in zones 9b-11.
