Musa Red Flash

Starter plant of this Musa sikkimensis Red Flash. A gorgous ornamental banana with dark red blotches on the top of leaves, the underside of leaves are deep maroon. They are claimed to be hardy in zones 8-11 but I have yet to leave mine out in zone 8 during the winter so I'm not sure about this.

Musa Helen's Hybrid

Musa Helens Hybrid Musa Helen's Hybrid. From eastern Himalaya a hybrid between Musa sikkimensis, a frost hardy banana and Musa Chini-Champa, a cool hardy edible variety. This combination should survive in a relatively cool winter. The plant produces an edible fruit, although these are full of seeds, it should prove to be an excellent candidate for growing a fruiting banana

This extremely vigorous banana grows many feet in a season and will form large clumps that can reach up to 13' tall. Also known as the Japanese Fiber Banana, it makes a fine container specimen. Will not be dug up until orders are placed to keep them very vigorous.

Musa Velvutina

plant of this beautiful and very easy to grow tropical Musa Velvutina or Pink Velvet Banana is hardy in zones 7-11. It can be planted outside with lots of mulch and frost protection where it needs to be fertilized with slow release fertilizer and kept in full sun. This fast grower doesn't reach grow much taller that 5 feet. I have had mine for five years and none have grown more than five feet. It has beautiful pest free foliage and a burgundy midrib running down the leaf. The flowers are hot pink and the bananas that follow are a beautiful bright pink also. When the inedible fruit totally opens it appears to be a large group of lilies when the banana peels fold back, its quite a sight. This is also a very good house plant in containers and one of the few bananas that will blossom inside
