Bird of Paradise Strelitzia juncea

starter plant of this Strelitzia juncea, Crane flower or narrow leaf Bird of Paradise. This second year seedling is quite different than the other species as the flowers are perched upon a long reed-like stem that has no significant leaves. Althought the blossoms are the same color as reginae, it is a different species. Growing up to 6 feet tall, this plant likes both full sun and part shade. Hardy to 20 - 25 degrees.
