Camellia japonica Laura Walker Quart Plant

Quart plant from Camellia japonica Laura Walker. Introduced in Marshallville, Georgia in 1956 this variety bears beautiful reddish-pink, semi-double to anemone-form flowers from January to March. It was chosen and cultivated for its compact and vigorous growth; it is able to support its numerous buds without its branches bend. The flower is a double red, partly peony-shaped of a deep almost red pink. This one likes a partially shady place, where it can receive the sunrays during the coolest hours of the day. The upright habit and glossy leaves provide year-round interest. Requires acidic soil and partial shade. Zones 7a to 10b.
