Tradescantia are tufted clumping 18-24 inch perennials with erect, branching stems and lance-shaped, narrow, green leaves tinged with purple. These blooms are brignt carmine red, with three triangular petals each. Be sure to cut the foliage back in the autumn. Does well even in wet soils and filtered light. They are in blossom from April thru October with almost continuous blooms. Hardy in zones 4-9.
